Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks
Yum yum yum yum

Good luck at month end close brother
That’s extremely atypical. Is it possible you were so low level you didn’t have to assist?
How are ya’ll working 60 hrs?! In busy season I never work more than 50-55 and off season I average 35.
Ironically, isn’t some of the reason PA is so difficult because industry doesn’t want to work hard. Never been in PA but what I have heard. 🤣
Not because industry doesn't work hard. That's a joke they spread to make you feel good about the overwork they make you do. Industry works extremely hard, just have boundaries with our time. We have bosses and hard deadlines and high expectations placed on us just like everywhere else.
We should all say goodbye on anything more than 40 hours because unpaid overtime is like slavery.
Inverse relation ship in my experience. Last year I was offered an hourly job paying $30/hr and a salary job of approx $27/hr expecting 45 hours.
Good luck! I get to put my 2 weeks notice in today in preparation for doing the same thing you are. Nervous as all heck
I envy you! Enjoy!!
Wish you the best for the future. Welcome to the other side..
hours - Depends on your role.. if Reporting - then month end , spcly - qtr end, year end (based on company size) would be busier, but nothing crazy. Would be a learning curve but after a certain time you’ll feel comfortable.. if timesheets were the bane of your existence, you’ll be much relieved there isnt a similar scene. The major things you need to be at your top game is in building connections, being a culture fit, providing Value addition thru your role (finding efficiencies, trying to resolve the pain points of your seniors).
If you read books, then one book that can help you - no matter what the level of your role - ‘The First 90 Days’.
Yes, book is still applicable.. like the Dale Carnegie books that came out ages ago.
Hope it helps, it did for me :)
I have never worked 50 or 55 hous a day
