Ironically, my Job is in Pune(currently wfh), sister’s job is in pune, dad will be retiring and mom housewife so we actually have no need to settle in mumbai but we WANT to settle in Mumbai. Anyone ever have experience negotiating a new offer to include unvested 401k match and stock grants from your current employer? I hate leaving money on the table but there are some good roles out there. I’m not fully vested in my current 401k yet and my stock grants haven’t matured yet either. This would be at a global director level.

Is there any advantage or disadvantage to maxing out 401k in a single contribution instead of a taking some out of every paycheck

My previous manager would track us by hours daily, made a fuss everytime anything stretched and guilt us for that and the unplanned leave too unless it was COVID. Hinted him a lot of time, this is problematic but apparently he considered it "standard practice for agile".

Now 8/10 teammates have switched within < 1 year of project start (6-7 months with him) which tbh had good work in our opinion and even team was fun to work with even though none of us ever met in person.
