Often it seems like corporations are just machines of greed and evil people. Until you find a company that isn't. Then the whole work experience changes. Target isn't perfect, but they try hard to look after their teams.
Have you found a company that doesn't feel like a greed machine? How do you survive if you haven't?

Having low expectations helps me cope with working for a profit-driven, greedy company. I stopped assuming that they had my best interest at heart and my low expectations help me practice good work/life boundaries and not do too much for a company that doesn't care.

It’s all about the people! I have found that it doesn’t matter what the big name is out front. It’s the people inside that make the difference. I’ve switched locations, and it’s been a terrible experience to a great one.

My mom works for Target Corp and defends them all the time. She loves working there and thinks they take really good care of their people. There's been a couple of bad individuals in the company who have tried to screw people over but overall she loves working there.

Should I have to constanly advocate for myself in order to ensure I'm receiving market comp? About 3 years ago I decided to test the job market and realized I was being paid 20% less than I could get elsewhere. When I told my boss I was quitting they secured me a 30% raise to keep me at the firm. Since then my raises have been pretty meager and looking around it seems like I could get a dramatic raise by leaving. Is this just how things are? How do you ensure you're fairly comped without hopping

I’m maxing out my 401K, traditional IRA and HSA this year and paying for some house improvements. I have about $750K total investments and very close to $2M net worth, but realize that I am behind on investments if I want to do FIRE. I was focused on paying off huge chunks of my mortgage and managed to whittle it down to $75K left. Would you suggest I go ahead and pay that off this year? Or pause and do a mega back door roth instead? I’m mid 40s. Thanks!

Thinking of switching employers. Do you think bigger retail stores (the ones that have several locations) are easier or harder to work at than little hole-in-the-wall grocery stores (which is all I've ever done)? It seems like the larger chain stores would have more downtime, but I'm wondering if anyone could give some input.

The same jobs open for 2 1/2 yrs reposting salaries after interviewing 100 then cutting the salary by up to $50k They say can’t find people but they fire you in 90 days when your working 80 hours a week or people are walking!
