8.7 yr yoe, how can I negotiate with hcl ?@hcl
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

No, if that's what you want, set he expectations at the beginning to avoid wasting everyone's time

I’d circle back now. Just say you thought about it and it doesn’t make financial sense right now for you to take a base pay cut. You didn’t want to waste their time so wanted to be call back and be transparent.
Should I call back if I'd still take the lower base pay? I just don't want to leave money on the table.
Equity is not a guaranteed compensation. For example, if a share is worth of 100, it could go down or up based on the market when it gets vested. My stock options went down significantly due to market plunges. Base should be the most important factor. It determines bonus and other comp.
Unless we are talking about difference, I would say wait and you can negotiate once they extend you an offer. I usually tell recruiters this is the base for me to even consider interviewing so I am ready to negotiate when once things get final. Also, do some research and if market if different than you can bring that into discussion as well.
