I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

Honestly, as former IBMer, I’ve found their promises aren’t super reliable. In addition, you’ve already signalled a willingness to leave - the relationship is at least somewhat strained.
I would probably take the manager role, nail it for a year or more, and see if you like it. Worst case scenario, you can almost always come back to IBM or transition to another consulting firm.
@Mck1 would your perspective change if you got this in writing from IBM? Also, curious if you moved from IBM directly to McKinsey?
I work on the "advisory" side of consulting at Cognizant. Have done some true advisory projects, but, in reality you won't escape implementation. If you really want to get away from implementation, want to work somewhere well-managed, want to go somewhere with a good brand reputation, and want to get promoted more than once a decade, I would hold out for another offer.
If you need to get out now, want the money, and good WLB, go for Cognizant, but understand that there are a whole set of issues with working here too.
If I can try to answer more questions, feel free to DM me.
