Have you ever taken a job you know you will hate because you needed the money right away? I have a family to take care of. I don't want to be plowing through our savings for selfish reasons like my mindframe at work, but I don't want to make our lives worse by being miserable. It's a matter of really ruining some of our financial future if we don't get money soon.

I’m hosting family from America in my home in Europe this week. Being away for just a couple of years has made me really aware of American tendencies. They’re fat and literally are only always thinking of their next meal. We can eat, and they want to talk about dinner. How do I figure out spending with my SO? Initially I was paying for 90% of stuff (no actual bills, just going out). I talked to her and said we need to be more even. She was never proactive. She kind of got offended but we ended on a good note to split things. It went well for a couple weeks but now it's back to normal. She never takes out her card and only venmos me if I send her the request. She lets Venmos sit for weeks before paying them. I still let a lot of things slide.

Anyone with anxious attachment tendencies? Going through a breakup and I keep thinking about how I pushed him away and then am down on myself, replaying memories in my mind. Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??

Has a partner ever come back and asked you why you spent so much time on certain things? If you're being told "take your full lunch" (because by law you need to be given a certain amount of lunch depending on how many hours you work) but then you're told, if work's not done you need to stay until it is, and now people don't want to take their full lunches because it means they'll have to stay after work longer, is that coercion a violation of any federal labor laws?
