ChFC provided no value, not really recognized by customers and employers don’t give a crap for it either. I’m not renewing it next year. CFP was way harder and actually stands out to clients and employers. Studying for the CFA now. Not needed for advisors, but it’s the gold standard of Wall St and will definitely add value to manage UHNW portfolios.
Use your time in areas that will actually increase your income. Like self development or persuasion abilities. Having more designations won’t increase your quality of life in any way at Fidelity
Get the CFA and start your own practice. Don’t lean on SAI 😭
CFP is really the only one that matters and is starting to become less impressive since everyone and their mother is becoming one. I personally don’t like the alphabet soup next to someone’s name who has a bunch of designations. I’m going for the CFP and that’s it
Why do you want/need more designations?

I would agree with @MN Financial Planner that a lot of these designations are more a waste of time than adding any extra value. You might learn a few new things that would provide a slight bit of value, but chances are 95% of the education that will provide continuous value in client conversations and recognized by employers is going to be in the CFP or CFA. That’s why they’re the only ones that are actually really recognized. CFA not so much for our side of the business, but it opens a lot of doors if you want to jump into a different area of finance because it shows you now really know your stuff when it comes to statistics, economics, and financial statement analysis, which are applicable in a lot of different areas of business, not just wealth management.
