90% sure I’m about to be fired for sexual harassment (more detail in comments). Should I resign before I’m fired?
So now that the layoffs have settled for the moment at PwC, do you actually feel like a lot of the people in your group were let go? Because I don't...
What to do when a manager is trying to get you fired by making up their own standards JUST for you? Cont..
Veteran 🐟. Were their heavy layoffs during the last recession? Scared for job security and that we are close to another recession
At a new firm and right away I knew I wasn’t going to get along with one partner. Had a conflict with one of his associates early on. Everyone else is cool. Got into it with the partner and he told me he didn’t need my help on his matters anymore. The cool associates are still asking if I can pitch in cause they’re swamped. I’m a nice guy (despite what the partner and uncool associate may say), so I’m helping out. I’m the guy that gets fired and shows up the next day. Results TBD.
Say you work at Accenture and are doing OK (haven't been laid off yet and have projects lined up). Also let's say that you have good skills in cloud infrastructure, which is plenty busy right now. What would motivate you to accept a job offer at a tiny consulting firm (less than 300 people)? Would a good raise and a promotion to Senior Manager be enough? There are many risks involved with going to a tiny firm. What would it take for you make the jump and overcome concerns?
I worked at PwC and just got laid off for seemingly no reason. Does anyone have any leads for data analytics/data strategy/data engineering type roles? I’m happy so share my performance feedback as well. It’s pretty solid.
Need advice on strategy- got new job and somehow negotiated a sept start date. With the layoffs going on at D, what are the odds I can perform badly enough to get laid off so I can collect severance and take a vacay?
For those who have been laid off, what does it look like right before? (like HR schedules a meeting with you?). I have this really bad pit in my stomach. No trolling or sarcastic stuff please.
What's the best way to get laid off with severance? I've taken all my vacation days and just got staffed. Have already quit in my mind and plan on giving my last day notice whenever they(cont)
Just found out my manager (who many people are frustrated with) got a rating of 2. Does this mean she may get fired? If so, when would that happen?
My sister was a consulting manager at for a mid sized consulting firm and got fired. She got fired about 6-8 months ago, and has since been very depressed. Recently, I found out that she has been ...
hey all, i’m 3 years into my career. some decent work produced, some awards (mostly student). after getting laid off last fall and many many applications and emails sent, I’ve decided to spend time and money on a creative PR stunt to get my dream agencies’ attention. I’ve decided I don’t want to settle any longer, and I’m ready to make the jump to the elite. so people that have made it to their dream agencies: when did it happen for you, what made it happen, and was it everything you hoped for?
What do the Partners on here think of how these layoffs are being handled? Very curious (P1, where are you???)
Got fired today. All my above the line work got positive nods. My CD was overly picky about every word in my email blasts and collateral. I’m sure that’s what did it. Luckily I have a produced radio spot, another on the way, and tv spot being shot this month. Any advice?
How does a person not get tired of public accounting always wanting more, more, more? Can’t even take a day of vacation and feel good about it. It’s a double edged sword for me because I’m very driven and career focused but damn this is always killing my vibe.
How do I get MBB good @ PPT? I’m a staff 2 in consulting & have only had long term projects; teams rarely used decks. I know ppt well, so the Q is more directed towards designing pretty slides.
I didn’t get promoted to a senior and my firm is hiring a senior position in my office ... should I be worried? 😢
Thoughts on DDB Chicago’s culture? What kind of traditions, events or culture and inclusion initiatives does the agency have?
I have offer from Mindfire Solutions with CTC- 8LPA as Senior Test Engineer and from Google operation center with CTC- 6.4 LPA + 1.7L joining bonus as Senior Associate. In my current company, I am a Test Engineer and my CTC is 4 LPA and I gave bridge program and cleared the Associate Consultant role. My CTC will get doubled in next 8-9 months. What should I choose??? Can anyone please help me out.
Deloitte ARAS vs. EY FAAS. Does anyone think there's any real difference between the two? It mind of seems like Deloitte's ARAS may involve more technical accounting (vs. like just prepping financial statements, ensuring compliance, etc.), but it's kind of hard to tell. I guess this may be more office specific (dependent on projects each office gets) than anything else? Also, does anyone know if Deloitte or EY expects people to be back in office most of the time anytime soon? Would prefer WFH..
Does anyone know someone who exited into tech in Australia? Curious what the compensation tiers are like like out there for manager-level opportunities
Hi all, I’ve bought a ticket to see a DJ this Friday and I’m vaccinated. However, I’m planning to take a PCR test and flight in two weeks for vacations. Is it risky for me to go to this concert? I know there’s less risk in being positive but still! What are your thoughts ? Thanks !
I’m helping a committee put together legal workshops on practice mgmt and the COVID-19 crisis. I’ve seen a ton topics like exercise, diet, WFH tech, and client dev. Any other ideas? You really liked?
This may sound odd but I want to eventually work at all the big 4. To me it'll be like collecting infinity stones. Once you work at all 4, what crappy super power do you get? Currently 25% of the way there
There was this convo where a PML wanted to check with his counselee’s doctor if they are actually sick. I can’t seem to find it anymore. Can someone help me find it? I must read all of it. I can’t go to sleep without it.
Who else is buying gaming gear (keyboards, mouse, chair, headset) to work from home? It seems items geared to those folks are a lot more comfy and ergonomic for working too.
Hello all, Currently have an official Offer from Booz Allen Hamilton for a Travel System Support Analyst in DC. Although it’s not my “dream” position I still feel compelled to accept it to have BAH on my resume, does anyone have any experience switching career paths/jobs while in Booz? Any opinion helps , thank you ! I’m 23 with DoD experience btw if that helps lol
Vacation Question- Westin vs W (Paris)?
About to start traveling A LOT. Do people recommend southwest or United? Flying out of Chicago and equidistant to midway and ORD.
If you were fired / terminated by a prior employer, when searching for a new job, what would you say if the application / recruiter asks if you got fired or why you left the prior job? Will the reason pop up during background check? Would companies really give you a 2nd chance if you are being honest about the fact that you got fired? (Note: assuming pre-COVID)
One friend announces an engagement, another announces a baby, and I'm sitting here on a Friday night baking cookies and coloring. Making thirty look shitty.
“As a general rule of human civilization, we’ve lived where we work. More than 90 percent of Americans drive to work, and their average commute is about 27 minutes. This tether between home and office is the basis of urban economics. But remote work weakens it; in many cases, it severs the link entirely, replacing spatial proximity with cloud-based connectivity. What knock-on changes will this new industrial revolution bring?” Thoughts? https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/02/remote-work-revolution/617842/
