Agree on using urgent care rather than an ER. They have always been faster and cheaper the times we had to take the kids for ear infections, etc. For future reference also check to see if your insurance covers a company like Teledoc. I've used them before to get consults and it ended up costing me $8 since we had already met our deductible. They can even do video to see rashes and things like that.

Do you have urgent care nearby? Or at least call the on-call nurse first, most of the time there is long waiting at ERs and not the best hygienic place for a 2 y old
