I invest in wine. It’s a liquid asset. Although I piss most of it away.
I’ve never considered it an investment because it’s my hobby but my magic the gathering collection has continued to go up in value and is definitely worth more than what I’ve put into it.
Black Lotus, definitely a good investment if you can get your hands on them for a good price

I have a large collection of Beanie Babies and Pogs
Have you gotten them appraised? And what’s your end goal? Retirement or inheritance passed on?
My take:
Investing in anything that’s a hobby for rich people (art, wine, etc) is overall a bad idea. Sure, everyone has a friend who got rich doing it. But if people do it for fun, then the market is by definition irrational. So unless you have some crazy edge in access or knowledge, then you’re not investing, you’re gambling. It might pay off, but it probably won’t.
I think that’s a great attitude to have
I've invested $27 in NFTs and they're already worth over $500k; I plan on retiring early next year.

I have a few Rolexes that I’ve done well with and I get to wear them so that’s an added bonus.
If you can get them at anything near MSRP, that’s great and you should do it all day long. But you won’t be able to, especially at any kind of volume to make this an asset class. You’ll be already paying a 50%+ premium to get a brand new model second hand. Generally speaking you will never lose money on a Rolex, especially a stainless steel sport model. The real challenge as I mentioned is doing this at scale.

Invest or own? I buy art that I like, not art that I plan to later sell.
Either .. I was primarily interested in investing.

Firearms! Do it for fun and personal hobbies, but there’s very little depreciation if they’re well maintained. Some more niche and exotic pieces can be found well below true market price. I once bought a shotgun for $240 that now sells for over $2k.
Planning to dip my toes into transferable machine guns at the end of this year. They’re a purely appreciating asset that has gone up 5-10x in the past 15 years or so.

I buy old cars. Not strictly for investing, but so far I’ve been lucky in that they’re all worth dramatically more than I paid

Chanel bags. They keep appreciating every year
D4, that’s not true. I have a lot of celine, balenciaga, dior, etc. and they don’t appreciate. It’s mainly Hermes and Chanel
I “invest” in rare coins, trading cards, and art. Though they will increase in value, these will be passed down so the value is somewhat irrelevant.

That’s a fairly standard management fee.
I recently started buying NFTs on opensea
Basketball cards
I know someone that invests in guns. They have at least 30 in their home and many others including machine guns located elsewhere in secure locations. Guns are their investment.
More like an insurance policy
