So I usually just try to make sure I’m getting the appropriate amount of protein and am keeping under my net carb limit. Is it necessary to hit your fat macros if you’re already full/satisfied? What’s the downside if you don’t? My thought is that you would just burn your stored fat quicker.
Avocados 🥑 I love avocados
Mct oil is dangerous in that it can take you over the top too quick.
I do coffee three times a day with heavy cream. Salmon, cream cheese on a keto toast.
And usually lamb chops
Expanding on C1 - if you aren’t getting above 70% of your calories from fat you will not hit ketosis. If you’re not hitting the macros for fat, your body will burn protein, which turns into glucose for energy - you may as well be eating sugar.
Also, your diet should predominately be cheese honestly, it’s extremely hard (maybe even impossible) to hit the exact macros without it.
If my fat macros are low for the day, I’ll shoot tbsp’s of EVOO, coconut oil, etc.
Cheese (fresh mozz, dips with veggies), pepperoni/salami, other fatty meats (steak, burgers etc), guacamole. But without adding mct oil/coconut oil to coffee it would be hard
If your don’t have the fat then your body will use protein for fuel. This will result in dangerous muscle loss. Fat is really important as it is the fuel. You need to teach your body to use the reserve fat and the intake. This is one of the the things folks don’t understand and how keto can become dangerous
Thanks for all the insight everyone!
Make sense. Thanks for the insight!
