Is it possible to go from Finance Compliance to Biglaw? I have 5y Biglaw experience abroad and NY license. Moved to NY for inhouse job in finance but considering moving back after 4y.

Kind of a quick rant. I did a quick search through some firms websites because I am thinking of switching jobs. It is definitely clear most firms still do not embrace diversity. I know diverse applicants must be just as qualified! So what is keeping attorneys of color out?? It’s so discouraging.

I am working in Infosys at 8.5 lpa and holding an offer from JMI ( Jean Martin Incorporation) for Investment banking analyst role at 10 lpa (negotiable). I have heard some negative reviews about JMI with respect to job security and growth. Can somebody provide any insight or review on the same as I am confused weather to take the offer or not?

I am a business development manager in a small biotech incubator. My end goal is to work in commercial, BD or operations within a big pharma/biotech company. What would be best for me:

1) stay in my company to quickly become BD Director and then exit (however my learning opportunities within my current company might be limited)

Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
