I have been doing wfh from 2010, long before anyone started talking about .
Never an issue for me
My mental health is get distrub when i was going to gurgaon sector 74 A daily up down is 6hr
I'm doing wfh from last year! Mental health was totally destroyed! Bcz I'm doing rotational shift! So feels like WFO is better
I have been doing wfh for about 4.5 years continuously. I switched in 2021 and have lost physical contact with close friends from my previous org, who all relocated. But we keep in touch and make trips to meet when we get a chance.
In my new org, I made some good friends but have met in person only a few times. Sometimes I go and meet them, for some months I work from my hometown, for a short while I have also worked from my wife's hometown. Many months, one set of parents stayed with us.
I also went on a team building trip of 3 days outside the city, Met the teammates for lunch, festivals, Diwali/Holi dinners or new year's lunch, and similar festive occasions.
The company has closed their largest India office, and there is still a smaller rented office space where we go once In a month or so.
My wife is working in a bank so she keeps more busy, in the office. With my remote work, we both are able to manage the house, family and find time to celebrate festivals and meet families too.
You can always take hybrid work if you want to have a connect with colleagues and friends at the office.
I am a senior backend developer. I have been working from home since 2020. Switched a job in between and continuing. The following are the things which help me stay sane:
1. Place for everything, everything in its place. I never dine at my desk or take meetings while dining.
2. I have ergonomic setup. I never undock the laptop and work lying in the bed.
3. I follow a routine, that has time for exercise, work, stretching, coffee breaks, nonwork banter with colleague (not every day), after-work walks.
4. I actively socialize, be it going on date(s), meeting with friends.
5. While working, music is always playing in the background on laptop speakers.
These are great tips. I follow some of these too, and I think most people working remotely long term are using few of these tips.
Except for point 4 - music (can't concentrate with music) and point 5 - dating for me (married, my and my wife's idea of dates are different now 😄)
