Hi folks, I've accepted an offer from Monitor Deloitte as a Strategy Consultant. Although in the offer letter, the name of the company is Deloitte India LLP. Just wondering if anyone else has gone through the process and is currently working at Monitor. I wanted to understand about the projects, hierarchy and overall culture at Monitor. My base location is Gurgaon. Deloitte India Deloitte Monitor Deloitte Deloitte USI
Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. Work/projects a bit better on average, but with a lot of overlap. Culture/teams the biggest difference, I find my colleagues to be consistently smarter, more driven and generally more enjoyable to work with. WLB is worse, probably 5-10 hours a week more on average, plus the up or out pressure is greater which adds stress.
Definitely higher standards and longer hours at BCG than Big 4. But your skills and determination are going to determine success far more than pedigree or prior company.
Stop getting down on yourself. Came from Big 4 and have done well here. Your attitude will drive your path here
@BCG1 - How long have you been with BCG?
About a year, spent 2 years at the big D pre-MBA
Do you feel as though coming from a Big4 requires folks (like myself) to train and learn more than others who may have started their careers in MBB? I’m always worried that I’d be falling behind my peers if I got into BCG (have interviews in less than 2 weeks).
I came in at a different point (post-MBA), so I felt like my experience is largely an asset vs. other MBAs who did all kinds of other stuff pre-MBA. The day to day work isn’t all that different, just takes a bit of adjusting to culture and higher expectations.
Agree with BCG1. This is directly observable in mixed Strategy&/PwC teams.
