Posting again hoping to get more responses: currently in financial services tax WAM federal group, manager. Think heavy compliance, churning out K1s. Seriously considering the exit and have been actively applying in various industries (not the typical PE or hedge funds in house roles). Which industry is the best in terms of growth opportunities and pay? My end goal is to be a head of tax and I want to choose my first industry role wisely. Don't want to get pigeonholed into a dying industry.
I have an exit offer to a major PharmaCo, really excited about the offer and company in another state. The problem is that the start date is right when my wife is due with our first child. Normally nbd, but we just found out that my wife has developed a heart condition because of the pregnancy. OBGYN and Cardiologist both have said that it would be ultra high risk for to move before the baby comes and will be safe 1-2month after. Tips moving the start date without getting the offer pulled?
Our firm is going to be hiring after 10/15! 55-65 hour weeks during busy periods. Primarily looking for seniors and up, but we will also consider experienced staff. Firm is located in Los Angeles but remote is also a possibility (I’m fully remote and so are a few others). Clients we serve are ultra high net worth, real estate investors, and the entertainment industry. DM if you’re interested.
Joined a Big 4 out of college. Been two full years with A-123 IT internal audit with experience in tool dev./sharepoint/vba. Will have my CISA w/in a year. What are my exit choices besides audit?
Any opinions on federal government vs in-house exit options? Salary is obviously important but I’m more concerned with WLB and WFH flexibility
Hi, would love some advice! I’ve been at my company ~1 yr and feeling like I need a change due to various reasons. Not sure if I can apply elsewhere w/ a little less than 1 yr under my belt, and I don’t have many connections in my area. Right now, I play a BSA role on my team, and I’m hoping to pursue product/UX design. I’m also doing a UX bootcamp in the spring & working on a udemy course outside of work for UX/UI. What’s a good stepping stone role (remote preferred)?

Why’s it called FAANG and not like FAMAG or something? In my opinion I hardly ever find anyone who’s able to switch into Netflix whereas Microsoft is still a top tier tech firm and is always hiring undergrads and even non tech folks
Hello fishes, I would appreciate your insights. I have 15 yoe in strategy consulting at T3 firms. Two questions: 1) I’m pregnant with my first baby (16 weeks), any advice on when to disclose? 2) Does that timing advice change given our current COVID circumstances? I’ve been WFH since March, and while the Firm hasn’t indicated it’s going to require us back in, a handful of partners I work have started to mention it. I’d like to nip that talk in the bud and feel like a reasonable way to do that is to disclose. Thanks in advance for any thoughts?

Not sure how consulting firms expect to retain talent out of undergrad if they barely raise pay. Left consulting after 1 year, end of 2nd year and I’m at 180k comp now with friends at D and PWC barely hitting 85. I know seniors at D not even making 100k

Does healthy debate regarding current events have a role in the classroom these days? Is it supported by staff and administration? I teach littles, so we're not ready, but I'm geniunely curious over how interested or non-interested older students are concerning today's topics...
Anyone know about culture at Altarum Institute? Seems like they mostly hire for tech roles, but I’m interested in their implementation projects.
Who do you contact if you have reasonable belief that fraud is occurring in a non-profit that has never been audited? (Not a client, just an organization I'm heavily involved with).
I feel like using star method in interviews in overrated. I stopped using STAR and finally started to get offers. It’s better to be genuine and let the conversation flow than to stick to a structure. Thoughts? Maybe I just got lucky.
Captain your career they said, you pick your specialty they said, the culture is great they said. 🤦🏽♂️
Why would Deloitte USI offer Analyst role to someone with 4 years of experience? Throughout the screening process, I was informed that the role was a Consultant. Should I discuss this with HR?
