Planning to add my parents as authorized users to my Chase Sapphire cc. Has anyone done that and is there a way to see the monthly spending per user in the app afterwards?

Why not wire them $1k per month (and give them some financial privacy over their transactions)

like

Points!

like

No, unlike Amex, which gives authorized users unique account numbers, chase has same account number for everyone.

like

My wife is on my Chase Sapphire card as an authorized user. My login works as it always has, and she has a login as well. All info is available to all users, no breakdown that I’ve seen though. It basically just turns it into a joint credit account where you’re the liable party.

like

Me and my wife have done it. Authorized user gets exact same card number and I haven’t seen a breakdown by user

like

Thanks! Any tips how to manage that? They live in Europe and I want to give them a cc with about 1k of spending money a month. But want to have transparency over this spend without having to separate my transactions from theirs. And ideally not pay extra fees.

Depending on where they live and what they’ll be spending on, Amex could work. A lot more places in Europe take it these days

Yes. You just create a separate login with their card numbers.

Not a good idea. Never involve family with finances! You might learn the hard way when collection time comes.

HNY all! I have multiple rollover and traditional IRAs, as well as a solo 401k. But (since I started paying attention to this kind of thing) have always been over the income limit to start a Roth IRA. I’ve also not done much contributing in the last few years due to purchasing an apartment and saving for renovations. Cue pandemic joblessness... if married filing separately, would you say it’s a good idea to start a Roth while under the income limit, even in this climate? Any reason not to?

My wife and I are moving to Boston from overseas (we’re from Italy and we’ve recently won the diversity visa green card lottery).

We are looking to rent a 1BR starting in January, ideally for ~$3k/month. I’ll be working in the downtown area.

Do you recommend we go for a serviced/luxury apartment (e.g. Montaje, 345 Harrison, etc.) or hire a broker to get a “normal” apartment?

Any managed buildings recommendations within our budget? Also, what are some good brokers we could work with?

Thanks!
