When I was a kid I wanted a Ferrari. I would say, “When I make money, I’m getting a Ferrari.” Now I can afford a Ferrari, but the cost is still ridiculous. It will add nothing to my life. I don’t even have time to drive it! I’d always be worried about dinging it or the slightest bump.
It’s okay to move on from the things you used to want - even if you were obsessed - when they no longer make sense in your life. That’s natural
You don’t need any ‘real’ reason to go...don’t beat yourself up over it. Wanting to go just for prestige and network is a totally normal thing. In fact, most people just go for that reason only even though they pretend otherwise.
Just think of a good on-paper story. Yours would probably be ‘that I want to launch an e-commerce biz and think an MBA would equip me with the right 360-degree knowledge of business to both launch and operational or it’
After some reflection I came to the conslusion that that much debt may not be worth it for just the prestige and network if I have zero long term corporate career goals. But I won’t lie sometimes I get this feeling that I’m disappointing myself and I’ve gotten way too comfortable. It’s just astounding that someone like me who was obsessed with an MBA can’t seem to find any reason to go. Thoughts?
