Pro tip: your mom will INSIST on a lot of shit from now until your baby is grown. Buckle up and ignore most of it bc it’s all based on how things were when she was pregnant with you—will save you the stress and worry 😂
I sure hope not bc I’m 5’1 and due in a little over a week! My mom is the same height as me and had three of us naturally if that’s any consolation.
My mom told me I’d have no problem “pushing out my baby” like her. I was 10 days overdue. Induced, labored for 12 hours and my 9.5lb baby wasn’t coming out anyway besides c section. Try not to stress. ❤️ I’m glad my next will be scheduled. 📅
5’ and had first vaginally and due in a few weeks with second and anticipating vaginal as well. Also, pro tip, my daughter is slightly medically fragile and every time my mom tried to give me “advice” I would respond with “oh that’s good to know, but my doctor told me I needed to do it this way for medical reasons, so we are going to try it that way first.” Shut her up every time.
Short person here (5’1 on a good day). Had 2 vaginal births.
“5’1 on a good day” is the most relatable thing I’ve read in a while 🤣
4’11. Induced even. No c-section. Barely a tear in fact. Our bodies were made for this! If a c section happens, it’s totally ok, but it’s not because of our height:)
Nope. 5’0 on a good day and pushed out the baby!
No. I'm 5'2 and had two vaginally, both full term. One exactly on time and one a week late. Never heard anything of the sort- however I did hear that incidence of preemie birth is greater if you and/or your husband were a preemie.
Not true.
Nope. I’m just over 5’1 and pushed out my 2 myself — first one almost completely natural although I wanted the drugs — I went fast. There IS a connection to that, according to my doc. My mom said she went so fast with me that they didn’t believe she was in labor!
I’m sure she has the best intentions but unless she’s an OB herself I’d listen to my doctor. I recommend putting up boundaries asap because you’re about to get TONS of unsolicited advices around your parenting style (even with good boundaries). Nip that in the bud, with your mom and others!

Nope. Nope. Nope. Not true and I’ve never even heard this. It totally depends on the baby’s size, health, your body, and a billion other factors.
Not true. What does matter is the size of the baby. My sister needed a c-section because the baby was 11lbs! I had a c-section because I developed a fever and they were worried about an infection and needed to get the baby out. No matter what you’ll be fine! Don’t stress about it! Best of luck!
It’s not your height. It’s your frame and the size of your baby. Big baby is going to be likely to lead to csection. Best thing you can do is know what both scenarios will play out like. Have your partner or support person ready to advocate for you and then just be as accepting as you can of what the outcome will be knowing that everyone’s health is the most important factor.
Other factors can lead to a csection too. So being mentally prepared for the possibility will help you gain some peace with it and keep you calm throughout.
Nope I’m 5’1” and had two babies without a csection! You got this!
