I skipped the last chapter for all four exams. The only exam that almost bit me in the ass for doing that was Reg.
People fail audit because they don't take it seriously. In my opinion it's the easiest exam, but treat it like its reg and you will have no problem passing it. Treat it like a joke, have fun studying again for it in a month
I wouldn't skip any chapters. Also, definitely do the simulations to practice researching the literature. I did all the multiple choice twice and passed the exam twice.
At OP: you mention creating an outline...Becker already had a concise 5 page outline for each chapter available online. I found it to be a great study tool towards the end for final wrap up.
I have Becker should I waste time making an outline or just focus on questions and note ones I got wrong?
I would go with the latter strategy. I think audit is one of the parts where practice makes the most difference. Also, don't overthink questions
Yes but not ideal. Depends on what classes you took in college too. A lot of cost accounting and finance courses will have covered the same material as on the exam.
I took BEC during busy season and only had about 4 weeks of study. Just memorize those stupid finance formulas and you'll be golden
Print out the outlines from Becker. Do progress tests and fill in your knowledge with answers you get wrong
Do all the Becker problems.
I appreciate the insight. Thank you.
You can skip the last chapter. You don't have to eead the book. You can also skip all the simulations. Just watch the lectures 1-5 and do all the MC. Review by quizzing yourself on the flash cards. That was what I did and passed pretty handily
I also felt the last chapter in FAR was also unneeded at so that is interesting
Agreed brother. By that point you just wanna knock the shit out of the exam
Per my study plan it is looking like I will have to study for BEC during busy season - possible?
Why busy season. If you are just starting aud right now I don't see why you can't do aud for 2 months and then bec before 11/30. Bec is pretty easy if you retain much o your non-accounting classes. I would try to study your ass off and get all them done this year. I don't know when you passed your first part but if your busy season is anything like mine, studying for CPA is not possible until May. Good luck
