Anybody else miss the con-call hold music? I feel like I am missing an old friend...

I’m (early30s) about 8 months into a relationship with a 40m. Things are wonderful in every aspect, but he is absolutely atrocious with his finances. I felt it becoming an issue about two months ago. He forgets about auto payments and just generally doesn’t care. I sat down with him and looked at everything and even after talking it out he still continues to stress and it’s now causing me stress. I had a final discussion with him today about it and he went on abt how love isn’t enough for me…

Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her. It’s not changing in the last several years and it’s impacting our relationship. Anyone have experience with their SO dealing with untreated anxiety? I broke up with my EX mainly because the relationship with my child and her was not the best, it sucks but I have to look out for my child, So far I am able to do the things I can do now. It is not the I am not Hoeing around but the simply fact that I can hang out with friends and go watch my son play baseball is a great feeling now. I feel at peace now, in somewhat of pain because of the breakup but I am at peace now.

I got a response within 30 min asking me to email them back from my work email. I did so and it has now been 3 days with no response. Is there any other way of contacting them?

Lawyer Couples:
I’m currently an associate (no kids) in a very busy corp group (think 50-60 billable weekly). My wife works significantly less (currently part time, 10-15, but hopefully will be full time soon). I find myself getting upset when asked to help with basic household things (trash, cooking etc.) when she’s been lounging around watching Netflix all day. Am I being reasonable or am I a misogynist? How do you deal with one person having significantly more free time than the other?

I love my SO but get unsure....they just went on a friends trip and came back and randomly said going on another one in two weeks. I said I wanted to spend time together so they came back next morning and said let's go away just us instead, which is awesome and I am happy BUT is it a red flag? They used to always be all about spending time together and now seems like I have to remind them to put us first in the past month. We both work hard and have kids so life is more complicated. Last night I went over to my friends house (she has 2 kids, 2 and 4 yo). She and her husband were asking me about my pregnancy and planning. And were asking what I’ve prepped to date. I’m only 13w2 days so I think it’s way to early for buying stuff, but I did mention we hired a baby nurse for when the baby comes. My friend completely berated me, short of calling me a bad mom already, saying “what is she going to do all day? Don’t you want to bond with your child?”. I’m so upset by this.

I just got a really great offer, only downside is the eligibility for maternity leave is after 12 months of employment. We got a faint positive today but have had so many chemical pregnancies over the past year that I am not confident it will stick this time BUT I am on aspirin and progesterone for this try … so it could.. I want to see if I could negotiate being eligible earlier but I also don’t want them to think I’m pregnant when I’m not actually… How would you approach the conversation?

When I negotiated my comp, all my discussions were around me being a junior and I only accepted my comp for that reason (would not have accepted if I was step above junior since it was low). Negotiations happened with HR, but my offer letter and documents never mention junior (but I have proof from HR saying I am a junior). How do I approach this with my boss as I’m not sure she’s aware I’m actually technically a junior? Revolving around asking for a move up + raise

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Why do you think firms got away not paying overtime or paying so little?

Is the CPA designation worth it? For me it would take me 1 year of PREP courses and 2 years of PEP until i can write the CFE. And I am 27 years old right now. Also wondering if it would be crazy to pursue the CPA while learning how to code to be a developer as well?
