Play with her "It takes two". My gf never played videogames and we are having good time with it! It also has been awarded as game of the year

Also A Way Out!
What about stray?
If your gf is into Harry Potter, try Hogwarts Legacy on the easiest difficulty.
I had mine play for over 2 hours just exploring the castle and having a blast.
As a women who loves to game but isn’t into gory games I LOVE Horizons series, Hogwarts Legacy, Cozy Grove, Spiritfarer, stardew valley, A short hike, and Stray (love playing a female lead in a video game). I don’t play it much but the spider man game is also sick. Also yes maybe start them on easiest settings!
Hear me out. Slime Rancher. Very chill game with cute slimes and tons of content. Singleplayer only but it’s a fantastic game for people who don’t love fast and violent games.
Stray!
Kena bridge of spirits
My GF loves this game
Hey, I’m getting towards finishing Dredge and I’ve been loving this little fishing quest (yeah you heard right). It’s quite Lovecraftesque
I’d try to work towards the major franchise type games on Easy mode: Uncharted, Assasins Creed, Witcher 3, Spider-Man, Final Fantasy
Lean towards the sort of movies/books she likes - romance, fantasy, comic book, adventure, etc.
Then work towards some of the great games in those genres.
Little big planet series or Ratchet & Clank
I second LBP for sure as a game you can play together. All three mainstream games were pretty good, but don’t know if LBP 1 or 2 are playable on PS5 with the premium sub or not. Dreams by the same studio is singleplayer only but takes a lot of inspiration from player levels from the LBP games. Sackboy’s Big Adventure is great co-op fun too.
Borderlands
Portal/Portal 2! AFAIK those should playable on PS these days
And of course, The Last of Us! It’s a cinematic experience which is easy for non gamers to get into
Unironically Fortnite duos is a great way to play an immersive co-op game, my GF is hooked
Highly recommend Chicory. It’s a single player game about art, self-expression, self-doubt, and anxiety.
The writing is great, music is stellar, and there’s a fun mechanic to it that makes it very peaceful and relaxing to just play.
Best part, a second player can technically join but all they do is help out with the aforementioned fun mechanic. Great for a partner or even a child to jump in and be “included” but not have any real control over the game’s direction.
My wife and I played it together, voiced the dialogue, and it was just a blast. Check it out.
I really enjoyed Firewatch https://youtu.be/d02lhvvVSy8
Also maybe strategy games like Civilization VI ?
