Anyone recently received a tax manager offer from EY ? I’m going through final interviews and want to see what your experience was like (negotiation process, initial offer higher/lower than expected?, did you give them a salary expectation range? How long did it take from final interview to offer etc) TIA!PwC EY KPMG Deloitte

Increasingly difficult to hold on to both....

Thinking about accepting a software engineering offer for BCG Digital Ventures . can anyone working there tell me about the work culture, learning opportunities, and exit opps . Im also interviewing with Zillow and am deciding wether to wait or take an offer. I’m really intrigued by the idea of building ventures and learning alot on the technical and entrepreneurial sides, but the opportunity to work for a tech unicorn is also very intriguing

In my industry org, we're encouraged to list credentials and certs in our email signatures. To be a bit of a dick about it, I've listed everything that's still active going back to my first certs from back in 2008/2009, but the MBA is the one thing I refuse to list. 😂
Rule of thumb I was told and that I stick with is to put degrees/certs that provide you some type of licensure/legal ability, think CPA, JD, Esq., MD and to avoid those that do not like MBA, MS, or those that are useless like PMP
EY4: agreed this is the model I was “raised” on professionally. You use certifications letters when there is a legal liability/code that you have to abide by/could be held accountable for, i.e CPA/CA, CFA, P.Eng, MD etc. ...something I can guarantee the MBA does not have
Calling things you don’t agree with “dumb” is childish. Prove me wrong.
BCG1 - your comment is too high brow and as a result that money MCK1 response is being hidden in the replies. We may need to delete our replies so it can reach its full potential.
I put the BS after my name since I am a consultant after all

I can’t, fully agree but there are worse offenders PMP comes to mind
D10, no. I think EY2 May be one and not have a mba. I have an mba. No interest in PMP :)
For the record I have one...the degree, not the letters behind my name...
Agreed. And there are people putting MS as well. Lame. 😂
in linked in and resume okay. email signature is lame.
SC3: you still have the MBA identified in the education section of your profile. Surely the filters you apply in search would be based off that section and not a free text form field that houses your name.
Had no idea this was cringy to folks and i absolutely dgaf 😂
Same
Asking people to prove you wrong is dumb.
Yeah actually you should actually replace your name with MBA after getting one because with all that debt it basically owns you.
Lol ouch... I just finished mine and wanted to put it there. Gonna do it anyways
Yeah I realize to a lot of ppl it’s not a big deal but trust it was a miracle I got mine! 👩🏻💼
Only slightly more dumb than the PhD in a non related field after a business title.
Same with people putting Esq. after their name
Rising Star
Weird flex but ok.
- sincerely MD, PhD
I rock the PMP
But not the actually PMP
If you have to include any abbreviation after your name, the cost of that abbreviation probably wasn’t worth the time or money
Jeff Bezos is that you?
Yeah I usually just go with Name, Unemployed
PIMP?
In the field of consulting, an MBA is less of a differentiator and more of a qualifier, so doesn’t make sense to advertise it. But if you have a PhD in a field that is specific to your work and it differentiates you from you competitors, by all means, use it.
Yah I’m fine with a PhD in a field specific to your work...just don’t call yourself a dr. ;)...dr of philosophy? ....sick....You’re very smart but I’m having a heart attack and your profound understanding of neural networks is not going to save me.
Not to sound negative, but only CFA or CPA should follow your name. Maybe CAIA or FRM, but never MBA. Look at the % of Harvard MBAs that have MBA after their names. I’d be stunned if it’s above 5%.
