PwC just announced a 5% firm-wide base comp increase effective Jan 15. Just had another announcement that the Deals practice will be giving an additional 10%+ increase effective Jan 16 ON TOP of the initial 5% as a market adjustment. Wow.

Hope this trickle downs to other firms. This is always great for the professionals. Except for partners. They are stressed right now

likefunny

Keep in mind PwC is probably the lowest paying out of all B4 TS right now. This is mostly catching up to other firms after we’ve lost most of the experienced people we had…

Really?

I recruited for Pwc; their comps were lower than everyone. Current raises are overdue market comps.

likesmart

PWC FDD underpays its staff for quite a lot compared to other big 4....this 15% really just going to bring them to the same pay only....

likesmart

I got pwc offer too. Just cant believe they were offering pennies in this year and under such high inflation economy. They were trying to sell me that PWC is a bigger brand big four, stupid. But they did the right thing now

likefunny

Wow I gotta join pwc..

likefunny

No lol

Can confirm, joined FDD recently and had offers to both EY and PWC. The PwC offer was about 10% lower even after negotiating. It sounds great, but it’s just bringing them to market so now PwC may be slightly higher if its 5% + 10%.

That’s insane - senior making $130? Not even manager

funny

Meanwhile EY quiet af LOL

I think we're ok with the 5% market adjustment Jan20 followed by 15% at June and then normal raise on top of that. My comp went up 100k

funny

Some of use like PwC, not all about the money, but really all about the money.

funny

Well deserved! Should have been include in the June raise, but better late than never.

like

Lol now I want the latest raise backdated to June haha

funny

Even with a 15% raise you’re still way underpaid

January new hires getting both would be lit

Not to be a stickler about numbers but does this mean a 15% raise or a 15.5% raise?

Got it. I understood it differently. Either way, I’ll take it!

This is great, at least I have an idea cause my RL is on vacay.

Where did you hear 10%? On the tax call they didn’t give a %

Incisive of the 5%*

Now I know why other big firms starting reaching out this week. 🤔

I just wonder if the 10%+ is a true market adjustment or mostly discretionary. I’ve only been with PwC in FDD for like 90 days, so I’m not EXPECTING that additional bump.. I wouldn’t really get it based on merit, but 10% is a pretty significant bump to base. To leave part of the cohorts 5-10% lower in base would be…weird? I don’t know what to think.

Varies by individual because we’re in different cohorts. It will be the same by level as usual, they did one of these a few years ago

like

I just joined EY and I am jealous.

What’s an S3 in Deals (FDD) at PWC making after this comp adjustment ? HCOL

S1’s will be at 112 per someone who accepted an offer for after 1/16 so that’s where my guess is from. I think manager will be 150 if that’s true

Damn PWC does it right - I accepted an offer at 108 as a new Senior and now I feel like I could of gone higher lol congrats though that’s amazing

No I am not an external hire. I am talking about FDD too - those are our numbers.

Currently a staff in audit - 6 months in. Glad to be learning a lot, and have had a generally positive experience at the firm other than a few interactions, some tough busy season nights. Really been intrigued by TAS/M&A, however, and had a few convos with a senior in TAS i know at the firm. It’s closer to what I studied, but don’t know how to make the jump as it seems an internal transfer could take 6+months/senior rank and a lot of convincing. Is it better to jump firms/has anyone done this?
