Question from an upcoming graduate:
I am on track to graduate this spring and just now searching for my first opportunity in the field of advertising (specifically a role in strategy. My question is, should I be looking for internships or associate/junior work options following graduation? Without any prior experience in the way of an internship or job in the “industry,” I am unsure if I could really even offer much as associate strategist. Any input would be beyond appreciated!

UM Nurses - what do you like and dislike about your role

Hello all, I'm a very green attorney, never tried a single case or even was second or third chair, but managed to land a litigation associate position at a Plaintiff's firm. Does anyone remember their first trial? How did you feel and how did it turn out by comparison? Anything you wish you did differently?
I know in THEORY what the process of trials are but thanks to COVID I haven't been able to observe them in real life so I'm very nervous for the day I finally enter a courtroom.

Any advice on dealing with a Partner who lacks project management/leadership skills? I'll take any suggestion...a podcast, a TedTalk, a yoga position, wine, hard liquor, basically anything.

Hello everyone! I am a Judicial Law Clerk, which I have been for a little over two years now. However, I’m planning on moving into the AML/Compliance realm. I have a background in finance, having been a Finance Disbursing Officer in the Army for 6 years with one deployment in that role. 2020 grad M&A/PE Associate in LCOL area thinking about moving to a ECVC/M&A boutique. I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Question on how to proceed. I have an action that is required to be heard within 30 days. It was filed 3 months ago and hasn't even been assigned a judge. I've emailed the clerk a few times requesting a docket number so I can at least serve D's. Yet absolutely nothing. Is this common in New Jersey? I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.
