Hi there! I am currently in the healthcare industry and I’m looking to make a move into the tech industry in a remote role. I’ve previously worked in tech, but under client services. I wonder if anyone has any advice on what kind of salary ranges I should be asking for. I have 13 years work experience with 2 of those in L&D, 3 degrees (BA IO Psych, BBA Marketing, MBA Strategy and Management). Thank you!

I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.
