Thoughts on PJT strategic advisory?
Can someone please provide insight on PwC People & organization practice? Specifically, the HR transformation and performance group? The type of work they are winning, maturity of practice, group culture, upwards mobility, and DEI experience? Also, how does the cohort talent model work? Thinking about switching from Deloitte to this group at PwC as a SA.

Hi Sharks, Off topic question. How long does HSBC take to schedule psychometric test. I attended managerial round on 10th aug and person who referred me confirmed that I cleared managerial round. I recently joined IBM and waiting for the project. In April I applied for an position but no test or interview was scheduled and recruiter asked me to give other email id as my application was already present in HSBC portal. Mgmt/strategy consulting at the top. FP&A that is more project based would follow. FDD sucks and is an accounting job, not finance, but it can lead to interesting pivots, so that's next.
Agree with the other person that fraud is a cool title but the work sucks. Would put near the bottom, right below accounting advisory (who wants to read the codification for a career...?).
Internal audit at the very bottom.
Consulting is a bit broad but consulting work that allows you the greatest creativity (probably management/strategy consulting) would be my #1. In consulting there are a lot of boiler plate projects that just require off the shelf analysis but I find the projects where you have to use a great deal of creativity and problem solving skills are the most exciting.
FP&A would be 2nd (especially where there’s a strategic financial analysis component) and FDD 3rd. The rest of those are compliance functions, minimum creativity, most likely to be automated imo.
Fraud examination sounds cool but from what I gather there’s not a lot of true financial fraud work out there and you’re probably just doing document review work at the junior levels.
Could I send you a DM about consulting work?

What’s the difference between financial and Sec reporting? Aren’t they the same? SEC reporting just specific to public companies and financial reporting being a broader term to cover reporting for both public and private?

SEC and financial reporting are the same at least at larger companies (I’ve only worked in banks) and I know because I’ve worked in it at public and private banks.
What you’re describing as financial reporting is financial accounting (product/financial control function at a bank) which would roll into a controllership function alongside financial reporting at larger establishments (like a bank).
