Don’t just encourage her to see a therapist. Find a therapist that specializes in postpartum depression, make an appointment, drive her there, watch kiddo while she goes and talks.
It is an extremely real phenomenon with many women; please take action now.
I don’t know about booking a therapist unless she is for you doing it. To a certain extent people in depression should decide to see someone, taking away their agency sometimes doesn’t help then she might not want to see the therapist. Be the light in her life, pick up the slack that she is finding difficult to get through (more effort on watching kids, chores etc), be nurturing and positive, be a shoulder to cry on and an ear (not always a problem solver) and encourage her to see a therapist.
been married 12 yrs.. its been on since baby number 1.. Therapy + family support + vacations/time away from kids + help (meal services, family help, you doing more etc), + yoga + exercise + good nutrition + plenty of prayer
It gets better OP
My wife did antidepressants while breast feeding, there are some that don’t impact the milk.
Highly encourage therapy and medication if that is what the professionals think will help.
Sertraline is the one but most women become insanely frustrated on it due to the lack or inability to experience an orgasam while on it... Can affect your relationship seriously and in other more severe ways due to this and the fact that it kills off sex drive.
