I've been working at my current job for about a year now and I'm finally beginning to understand how the company works.

It's not easy, though. It's a small company, which means there are only a few of us in each department. There is no dedicated training team, so we all have to learn new things on the fly through trial-and-error or by asking our coworkers for help. The management team seems to be pretty hands off when it comes to project management and project direction, so it's up to us engineers to figure out how we want to spend our time and who we want to work with.

I am a VP with compensation of ₹48Lpa in India. Have an offer of €65K in Germany. The German offer is at a lower position and lower compensation as I do not know German (as yet) and senior roles would require client interaction (German clients).

I see it as an opportunity to get my foot into Germany on a EU Blue Card and then look for something better once there.

My gf and me call each other everytime we have free time. However lately she seems disinterested in phone time. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB.
