Dolla dolla bills y'all
Never say anything remotely negative about your current job situation. Drastically reduces your bargaining position. It's always about how compelling this NEW opportunity is. The moment they think you're not happy in your current role, you've lost the upper hand.
We all agreed I should enter their building anymore.
I had hooked up with all hotties in the office so it was time for fresh meat
Seriously though, I've always said it came down to timing and opportunity. Always looking to drive my career forward and challenge myself yadda yadda.
Shouldn't.
"I've stopped learning and progressing"
"I got too comfortable in my job, need a challenge"
I am not looking to leave, but felt this opportunity was worth discussing.
"I haven't left yet. I want to see how long they'll keep paying me before they realize I'm gone."
Seeking change and more responsibility
"You guys called me. I wasn't looking, but figured I should meet you because I've heard great things..."
C.R.E.A.M. but damn you have to WANT to get out of bed.
My last move, the company reorg'd and once it was done it was VERY different, as in not the place I hired into, culturally etc.
"Looking to focus my career on x y z"...usually pick an example something that's not possible at my current place and a strength of the place you're interviewing. Under NO circumstance should you shit talk your current agency/boss/client IMO if that's the real reason you're leaving. Comes off as whiny and doesn't leave a good impression.
@SDP 1 I once said that and basically got thrown out (a la fresh prince of bel air) from the interview
Haha @FCB1 which comment? 💵💵💵?
I want to work for an agency that wins.
New challenges and updating my career portfolio to be well rounded versus being boxed into a particular line of clients blah blah
@SDP 1 yeah...it was like night and day
@SDP 1 I said "I want a challenge. I know what I bring to the table and I'm worth more than my current company is willing to offer." And then he just kept throwing it back in my face like "So this is about money?"...and me being like "I'm worth it." Lmfao it was obnoxious and not meant to be *licks old wounds*
My previous agency lost all major accounts except the one I was managing.
