Recently rolled over my 401k to fidelity and have been nervous about getting into the market. Granted that no one has the crystal ball but I've been torn between holding it in cash till the covid

Buy some index funds and hold for 20 years, you’ll be fine

like

Thank you!

If you’re 38, it’s time to buy. Maybe grab some bonds (25%maybe? With some gov, some corporate) but otherwise grab Fidelity’s S&P index fund and hold on. Stocks might drop again as could still be cascading liquidity issues, but you’re getting things at a mega discount v 2019 prices.

Time in market beats timing the market.

We’re at a slump, now is the time to get in. When there is blood in the water - buy...I have a client that started with me on 3/20, he’s up >30% to date.

If you’re nervous, I’d recommend auto investing the lump sum in equal weekly chunks over 2-4 months. Don’t pay attention to the price at all and don’t adjust it once setup. Use an index fund so it can be automated.

As others said, time in market beats timing but it might help for peace of mind.

Is under control or buying index funds or seemingly undervalued stocks.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
For the context, I'm 38.

Hi Fishes/Seniors,
This will be the first time I will be in tax slab.
I have few queries can anyone please help me regarding this.
In ELSS mutual the total we can save save tax is 1.5lakh. Do we need to invest yearly 1.5 lakh yearly to save tax? I am planning to have a Sip of 5000 monthly for 3 years. So total money invested in 3 years will be around 60000 * 3 = 180000.
Will that be sufficient to save tax or Do I need to have a sip of 12000 per month to save tax.

I am a traditional reservist so I never really used military benefits before, but could use advice here.

I am currently renting and my lease is not up until October 2021, however I found a good deal on a home and scheduled to close in June 2021.

My landlord will not work with me to end the lease early, so it looks like I will have to double up on rent and mortgage through the summer.

If I went on active duty orders, can I use those orders to break my lease early without penalty?

Interesting. Let’s see if the uptick In cases continues to drive an uptick in hospitalizations and then in fatalities. Depends on how many of the cases are incidental or in very young people not prone to severe cases. But either way, look at the hospital capacity utilization figures! This is the untold story. Were we bending the curve to avoid unnecessary deaths due to overcrowded hospitals, or were we bending the curve to buy time for treatments and vaccine, or just to slow fatalities?
