Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!

entirely new position is a reset on time spent in previous position... you won't get promoted any earlier than 8 months.
^ ^ @Saatchi1 Agreed...I'd even go as far as saying not for at least a year.
@Original Poster - Patience is virtue. Most people don't get promoted solely because they've been there a long time. Understand and conquer what's expected of you in your new job description. Once you've done that, and have started to tick-off a couple things on the description for the next step up, then you should have some proof of being worthy and ready to be promoted.
You earn your way out of associate-hood by showing you're able to do the billing and flow charts and MRI runs correctly... not by showing up for a certain amount of time.
Thanks, everyone. Totally understand you have to work your way up to it. I've worked really hard at my current agency in both roles. This was more of a case of the little green monster creeping in...folks I originally did general training with have moved up and I'm still at the same level, so it's been a bit disheartening.
