110. Strategy with MBA, 150

helpful

What about tech

110, u can try for more, but hard to push above 115-120.

Hmm, bonus %?

Base $105-$110, if in MC; Strategy might be 10-15% higher. They’ll throw you sign-on ($5-$10K), and annual bonus target is 3%, but if you’re a high performer, you might get them up to 5%. If you get the money in base, they won’t give you much flex in bonus, no matter what your performance, realistically.

Tech is less than both MC and Strategy, unless you have a niche skill set

Wouldn’t be MC. It’d be Salesforce which is tech

106k in Salesforce practice

Damn....I’m already making 100k and our bonuses are bigger

Ask for it. They initially offered me $105K, I had Deloitte counter, and then they went up to $110K. I said I was still considering Deloitte, and they made it $115K plus $15K sign on.

Ok thanks

You can only get what you ask for. It’s all about the negotiation .

How many years experience? Did you share salary goals? Maybe you need to come in at higher level.

4 yrs experience....isn’t the next level manager? Would like to make 120-125

The next level is Manager, which sits around $115-$130ish for a new promote.

Doubt they’d bring me in at manager level since I only have 4 yrs of experience

They won’t. And you wouldn’t want to come in as a Manager yet. Even if you’re very good, being a [good] Manager at a new firm is tough even for more experienced people.

There is an associate manager role between consultant and manager. Similar to senior consultant at other firms. That may be best target. Communicate your salary target to the recruiter. Just have a transparent conversation. They will be honest with you. Keep in mind our Salesforce practice has a 10% hot skills bonus with many of the sfdc certifications after you are with the firm one year. So 120 is really 132 plus bonus.

What are the hot skills?

We have a long list of certifications including many sfdc certs. If you have these you get an extra 10% bonus paid out 5% every 6 months

I am in the process of negotiating an offer for a new job. At my current job, bonuses will be paid out on august 20th. The bonus is sizable so I would like to stay long enough to obtain it. Ideally, I would wait until the bonus hits my account before I put in my 2 weeks. If the new job wants me to start sooner than august 20th, is it acceptable to say that I want to stay because of the bonus, or should I give a different reason? Is it a bad look if I say I want to stay for the bonus?

Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!

Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad

Interested to hear how people learn project management. I have done PRINCE2 exam and read PMP materials, but I find these are too textbook theory based. Real life projects seem to be very different and a lot more complicated. I often do not know what needs to be done unless someone tells me. I believe you can learn these things on the job, but I am keen to expedite this with some books or courses. Are there any resources that are particularly helpful?
