Honestly, people who prey on job seeker are the lowest of the low. We are the people with the least amount of money to lose and yet they still come after us relentlessly. Shame on all of those people and thank you for warning us.
I’m sorry to hear about this scam these people are as bad as Lucas… Lucas released an album of my music but refused to pay be for my time creating it and refusied me payment of royalties. How much money does this Trump mannabe need?
I'm not sure any industry is safe from these awful scams. Scammers are taking full advantage of our desperation for work, and they make some of these scams look so convincing that it's hard to tell real from fake. It's more important than ever that we trust our gut when it comes to job hunting.
Yup. Agreed. Need to be super-vigilant. NEVER get sucked into paying a "fee". This was particularly pernicious as it was on LinkedIn. I reported these there promptly.
DO NOT ever pay ANYTHING to get a job. No fees, no cost, make them pay your parking, etc. a job interview should not cost you a dime. Looking for a job should not cost you. If you choose to have professional resume created or consult a coach or whatever make it because you chose to pursue that avenue, not that someone sold you on it.
Don’t ever pay for photo packages, video or audio reels. Another area, especially for creative jobs, is to have people pay for professional portfolios. One hidden one that’s not exactly you paying for but you using your time.
Don’t do any free work to “try out”. Don’t design a website, a presentation, a training, or anything to show what you can do. If they can’t except your portfolio they don’t value your time. I’ve specifically told people who’ve asked me this that my time is valuable. You obviously don’t think so and i would rather use the time I would spend creating this for you, looking for an opportunity that values me more. One company wanted me to create a full training on project management software to see if they wanted to work with me. Another a full training on explaining a 10 page contract to a customer from a salesperson’s point of view. That wasn’t even a few hours of work, those were weeks.
What sort of platforms you using 🧐
Probably why. Reach out to the companies and hm’s directly on linkedin
