Just remember that the person interviewing you is... a person.
I mean, they laugh, they cry, they have their fears and frustrations just like you do. So, it's no big deal. Just act naturally and it will be fine
If I’m good enough they’ll laugh and cry.
This thread made my day. Nice to see so many people giving nice and fun advice. No bitching, no sass, no snarky comments. Look what you’ve accomplished, OP! You deserve the new job.
Thank you ALL! Interview went exceptional. Chemistry was there. Good vibes were there. Even went for it and asked for my ideal salary. Y’all rock.
GO ON AND GET IT!!! Congrats on the strong interview!
Exercise in the morning!
Good luck!
I just go with this strategy
Being as prepared as possible, being yourself and knowing it’s out of your control. Or Xanax
Tomorrow might be a bad day to try Xanax for the first time.
Their first question is probably going to be tell me about yourself. Nail that to gain confidence early and the rest will come naturally...that is if you’ve got the goods.
I put on some music and dance around my apartment in my interview outfit and say fun one liners in the mirror...but mostly dance- get hype!! It’s gonna be fun! Oh and do your research!

Honestly make sure you drink your coffee atleast two hours before the interview. There’s nothing weirder then anxiety combined with a caffeine rush in the middle of an interview
No coffee for me! I have no desire to pee 86 times before this.
Just know that if it’s meant to happen, it will happen — and if it doesn’t happen, it wasn’t meant to happen.
Practice talking through your work - why it fits the brand and it’s strategy, even if just a banner ad! Think about what you want out of a new job, what you like about your current one (to be positive-sounding) and how you want to extend yourself. Think of some favorite ads, and you’re pretty much set! That’s still my formula for confidence (plus a smile).
Talking through my work has been a tough skill to grasp for me. I think when I’m anxious my first instinct is to flee—that means getting it “over with” as quickly as possible by talking briefly. I’ve noticed this issue and have been working on being conscious of this in the moment so that I take a minute to breathe and just enjoy the convo.

I actually do always go out the night before an interview to shake off nerves (I only have a drink or two though). The times that I’ve done it, I’ve gotten the job. The times that I didn’t do it, I did not get the job
Honestly, just from this thread, you seem bright, receptive to ideas & feedback, and eager to improve where you can. You’re gonna nail it. Just do a power pose and scroll up & take one last look at Art Director 2’s pic immediately prior to the interview if you need a last-minute boost. Good luck & be sure to report back! ☘️💫
Before an interview if it’s in the morning I’ll go to a coffee shop I really like, treat myself to a nice coffee and have the chats with the baristas. Helps me to start off on a nice way to the day.
Hope it gets to an offer stage and if it does, do NOT accept less (than 5K) than what you asked for. Negotiate.
Congrats on the interview and thus the next ones will keep improving each time. Practice is the key to acquiring any skill, no way around it, so might as well embrace it
I’m usually flattered when the interviewee knows the work I’ve done outside of the agency.
Yeah definitely. A little stalking never killed nobody. Wait.
^ Mmm not sure I agree there entirely. We are able to make things happen for ourselves with a plan and motivation but I digress.
OP, you've gotten great advice on here. Lots of truth in all of it. Meditate in the a.m. is another one. Practice what you want to say out loud. I can't stress that enough. Thinking in your head what you'll say isn't working. Talking aloud is very powerful and productive. Record yourself on your phone and play back to see what it sounds like to others. Extremely powerful yet simple technique. Lastly, on your way there start telling yourself "I'm excited", it works wonders. Your mindset is critical to how you see things and how you behave/react. Have fun!
Stalk the people interviewing you on social media tonight to remind yourself that they’re people too. It also helps to know if you have any mutual connections and interests, so you can try to bring it into the conversation casually. Just don’t mention you stalked them outside of checking out their LinkedIn, but definitely look for their Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Too late doodle neck! It was today. Good future advice though.
Be yourself. If you can’t be that, you don’t want to work there anyway.
BUT ARE YOU DANCING?!
Not until I get that offer letter.
