Seek honest advice. My company usually promotes between 2 - 2.5 yrs, i just hit my 2yr mark and in my mid yr review I felt was good and overall seems like they’re happy with me, staffing me alone with MDs and leading some projects with the new hires. But he did not mention a promotion. Whilst, what my peers are mentioning is that in their review it was pretty obvious a promotion was coming soon. I want to talk abt this with my boss but dk how. Should I start looking elsewhere?

I would ask for it. My MD works on very small deals and he refuses to promote anyone. So people end up leaving and he acts very shocked. I did amazing work for years and getting same treatment. It’s so depressing that I feel like rage quitting.

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

Any EU attorneys who went for an LL. M. in international commercial law (or other) in Europe?

If so have you found it "worth" the year of your time? I am currently working at a firm that specializes mostly on commercial law and has a lot of foreign clients. The other would mean taking a year off work and pursuing the LL. M, Thanks for help

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
