Senior 4?

like

You aren’t getting fired. We have a handful of Senior 4s and even a Senior 5 because of no exams. Also the fact that not all Senior 3s eligible for promotion to Manager get promoted, you have a couple years left for sure if you choose to stick around.

like

Sounds like you already "found out." Sorry dude, writing is on the wall.

If you're on the path to getting your CPA and you have good reviews, you wont get fired. If you haven't even started you may get counseled out, though.

Senior 4 is common, and senior 5 if you’re good and they need you in the firm. I have yet to see a senior 6. In my office, a senior 5 who didn’t pass CPA just got let go.

Depends on needs in your region. The firm has been laying people off, so unfortunately if I were you I would start looking for jobs ASAP.

Hi all, I got laid off from my current company (product based) a month ago. Since then I've been looking for new opportunities. I got an offer from a good product based company with a good package and also my current company offering me rehire with promotion and a good package. I have a good rapport with my current manager, and he played a major role in offering this rehire opportunity. I'm confused about making the right decision here. Kindly share your views. Both offers are pretty much same.

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Should I renege offer from MBB?

An MBA recent grad. I signed with MBB last year. However, I have always wanted to do tech PM. I couldn’t find PM job in Fall and just signed MBB offer I have. I recently got an FAANG offer. It’s PM function, hard to break in with consulting experience. I declined the new offer during interview stage and again after they gave me initial offer, but it is coming back with 80k more in annual compensation. It made me so torn!! Should I renege MBB offer?

Hey friends. My wife and I are looking to start investing in the market outside of our 401ks, hsa etc. We opened a Charles Schwab brokerage account and planning to transfer 2-3k/mo. Thinking of splitting evenly across large, mid, small caps, and growth, value funds using DCA.

Tax question - I make about $200k and get half of my income from a W-2 and another half from being an independent contractor. Because, I’m subject to pay both FICA and SECA taxes. Do my social security taxes get capped on amounts paid above the ~$140k threshold across both my W-2 and 1099 incomes or am I out of luck and have to pay more than that since only about 100k of my income is FICA and the other 100K is SECA (which is subject to ~12% overall including the ER portion)?
