If you’re in re finance, my firm is hiring. To answer your question, everyone expects seniors to run deals with very minimal supervision, take ownership, and care x1000. If you can do these things, you’ll be solid
Yeah senior associates are the new junior partners and you're basically auditioning from the moment you get that title. I got passed over for partnership and the feedback was basically "great associate but she isn't acting like a partner yet so she's not ready to be a partner".
So basically ownership, creative problem solving, complete independence so that the partners don't have to think about what you're doing. And heaven forbid you ask too many questions or else partners will think you're putting the work back on them. But they still want to be in the loop without actually being in the loop.
My firm is looking to hire an RE associate. Please feel free to PM me and I'll give you more info.
I am sorry OP. I was laid off too a few weeks ago for the same reason. I keep applying, but has been awful. However, unlike you, I am a junior attorney. With your experience you will land a good job 💪 I see more and more RE jobs being post every day (but for mid to seniors, which is perfect for you!). You will do great. Good luck!
Thank you so much! I pray the same for you, too. Especially getting into the new year, something will come through!
