I think you just need to think of how miserable you'll be if you don't get through it and pass. I would also schedule your exam(realistic date you can study and pass) so you have an actual deadline and have end in sight. Studying for the sake of studying gets you nowhere.

I look at this way. I rather be really miserable over a short period of time rather than being miserable just a little bit over a longer period of time. Got me motivated enough to push through no matter how much I may hate the material.

Have a goal. I passed my exams to help me switch firms and go to a new city.

No adderall. For 30 days study every day for 2 hours. For next 15 days take pto and study 8 hours a day. Watch every lecture, do every MCQ once, then every simulation. Once you went through everything - go back to ch 1 and do every MCQ and simulation all over again. Once you went through everything twice start taking practice tests and then If you use Becker do random MCQs non stop. It will suck. It took me 1.5 years non stop - I am really proud of myself. Drink coffee or soda to concentrate. Don't skip days of studying. Good luck !

like

I feel that you have fallen into a trap. You try to read each chapter in super detail... guess what ? When you finally do finish, you'll forget most things from the previous 9 chapters. Instead take the practice quizzes and focus your time on what you don't know. Instead of reading over what you already know.

Don't read over anything. Right after lecture go straight to homework. reading over and over again is bull shit. Only MCQs will help. You'll read while trying to understand the answer to questions you got wrong.

PwC1 drugs are not an option though I appreciate the input, EY1 thank you I will be doing this as I don't have a date set yet. Thanks so much

I studied for 3 weeks about 2hrs a day then for about a week and a half 10hrs a day... Got a 78! I would suggest taking a week or two of pto and just do practice questions over and over before your exam. Agree with previous comments u need a goal and a deadline, schedule the exam and make commit to be ready to that day.

RSM1 sounds like overkill or youre just bad at studying. OP at this point in life i assume you know yourself quite well and know which study method works best for you. So go with that but it is very helpful to have a goal/timeline. That way you aren't just floating on study limbo and are actually working towards something concrete. Oh and before i forget, (wo)man up and do what you gotta do, like RSM1 did.

Totally. I suck at studying. That's why I had to study so much. I do think that everyone should go through all of questions twice.

Yea i mean using half your years worth of pto to study for one exam sounds awful. But im glad you got through it and now youre a cpa 🎉🎉🎉

Geez. No point in taking questions you already know the answers to. Maybe repeat the ones you got wrong/guessed? Overall what worked for me was RSM1s approach minus the 8hr study days / PTO.

Roger CPA review was the best. Short videos of a metro dude that talks about MJ, hoes and cops. Don't go to birthdays, holidays, or nothin. I had to skip going to see my favorite band touring my state once in a lifetime to pass FAR. Passed on first try. Nearly killed my SO for breathing too loud, poor thing

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. Anyone here moved from strategy to account?

Can someone please tell the details and when we can expect the new revised letter mentioning the new designation.

Sell it on the same day it vests(vests starting of every month) and then invest that money in vgt and voo. I understand the short term tax implications but still feels it is better to invest in etf than in company’s stocks. Thoughts?
