Does the company you work for in house work with outside counsel? Would they be open to you moving to the firm to gain the experience you get in a firm? That would make more sense unless you just want to totally pivot your practice. However, I think every attorney can really benefit from law firm experience in general before working in-house.
If you went to a law firm and want back in-house, it shouldn’t be for litigation. Litigation roles are few and typically IP or employment. Contract review (which primarily exists in-house not at law firms) or M&A experience (mostly so you can do contract review) appear to be in more demand. But it is more of a commodity work. Maybe SEC experience would be useful, but also something you can gain in-house.

Litigation will not make you marketable for future in house roles. You’re better off doing corporate/M&A or something like regulatory, IP, or privacy.

Go to a firm for some more substantive training but not litigation.
Unless you want to pivot to being a law firm litigator.
