There are a few important factors.
1. Do you like the area you would move to more?
2. Do you have a decent vehicle to not burn through fuel every week?
3. Is the new housing situation going to be permanent?
In nowadays market housing rates are ridiculous and you end up paying thousands more than value for interest rates. No mortgage will likely save you a lot of money even with a 2 hour commute
Does the property have a resale value? And are you certain that you can handle the 2 hours commute? Does the location have everything that you need/want close by (grocery stores, hospitals, restaurants, etc.)?
I don't think it's a good idea, but ultimately depends on if your own choice. Maybe find another location that won't require a mortgage, but closer to your job?
I get the allure, but I think commuting every day would be too much. I would consider it for a 1-2 day/week commute especially if you are a passenger and can read, watch a program, listen to a podcast, etc.

This plan works if you work remote, or rent a room in town near work. Like a hybrid work situation, get a room rental 2 nights a week for $600 a month. The math could work. Plus 5 days you are in the paid off place. 5 days a week, 2hrs each way is a hard pass. I work remote, zero local job opportunities, paid off house. I also know it’s possible I need to relocate for a job which I’ve done. It’s easy to afford two places with zero mortgage payment on the 1st place.
I believe there are still unclaimed lands in deserts and Antarctica. Probably best to go warm near irrigation or plentiful water. Get enough money to build and infinitely supply a green house. Maybe spend a little money on the land. Get something in Hawaii where it's desolate and cheap but rich with rain water and livable weather.
Minimal living that way shouldn't cost much. Can probably retire on $250k
OR! Ask people what they do for a living as you record it and post it on YouTube. You'll be The Other Guy and still pretty wealthy. Give that a few years though
