I’ll recommend 4/5 months before the PM cycle and comp discussions but have structured conversations to say.. if the comp hike isn’t feasible here, I will then start looking outside and consider opportunities. I wouldn’t want to exit the organization as it has great culture (blah blah) but for me compensation is an equal priority currently.
I think talking to your counselor/ leadership would help.
