Great trip choice to see some of the best natural beauty in the lower 48, and one I need to do again. Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands (if time), Zion, Lake Powell (take a boat cruise out to Rainbow Bridge), Big Bend in the Colorado near Page AZ, slot canyons outside Page (don’t miss them), Monument Valley if time, Grand Canyon, don’t miss Sedona south of Flagstaff. The area around Moab UT is pretty cool too. Other random things: swim in the Great Salt Lake if warm enough, white water rafting on the Colorado. Glen Canyon and Hoover Dams. Skip the plaque at the Four Corners.
Getting an annual National Parks Pass will likely be worth it if you’re able to hit up more than a few of those parks to save on entry fees. Some such as the slot canyons aren’t part of the national parks system but still worth paying entrance fees for.
Flying into FLG may be closest to a lot but is often expensive with limited rental car options as it’s tiny. LAS, SLC and PHX will have far better rental car options. Remember there are often fees, sometimes big ones, for returning rental cars to a different place than you picked it up from.
I’m from vegas and schooled in Utah. Start from slc. Check out the mountain stuff and the Mormon temple. Stop by the arches and Zion. Shows and buffers in Vegas
P2 nailed it! I'd highly recommend pace things out and don't go in with an hour by hour itinerary. Make time to pause and take all the beauty in and look to spend about 2 days per park. The hikes in Zion were my fave (Angels landing and the Narrows)
Definitely don't miss Monument valley, Arches and Zion. Page Arizona is a better location to fly into
@OW1- looked into page and it’s $700-800 vs 100-200 to fly into bigger spots. Hence going to road trip into Page instead. Thanks for the must-sees!
Thanks p1!!!
Flagstaff is a good place to fly into and fly out from Vegas
@atk- are there good stops along the way to check out from flagstaff?
