I am so sorry this is happening to you if it makes you feel any better I was let go because I got blamed for stuff the executive chef was doing an didn't want to take the blame for it. He pushed it on me as far as not ordering things when I didn't even do the order but hey there are better places out there toxic work environments aren't worth your time

If you are in a union take it to them! I assume that is what’s meant when you asked for a rep? I have never been in one, but know there are a lot of stipulations and things to follow so definitely reach out to the union and let them advise on what to do next. Some places you really do need that protection.
Yeah I heard that big hotel chains have this issue - seniority rules. Definitely try to ask for union advise at the very least. I feel like if you can get over the initial hump, a lot of people can stay in these large places forever… these older guys eventually have to retire right?
