McKinsey & Company Hey folks!
Was wondering what sort of life sciences projects does usually the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company take on?
Commercial, access and pricing, M&A, transformation, implementation? (all of them perhaps?)
Basically, what would someone with an LS background be mainly working on in these firms on a day-to-day basis?
Thanks!

...to jump a year (not promotion but skip a year to be closer to the next level/cohort), why do people (even my mentor) keep telling me that’s not possible?! Just because of my lower than average utilization? I’m so confused....
EY 1, I was sick for a month, and truly available for a month cuz I was new. Lower than the goal for my level, but not sure what’s peer average :(
It’s likely to be a factor. This is a for profit business and low utilization means they are getting less bang for buck from you. But regardless, just because you’re above average doesn’t mean that your performance warrants a jump in levels. When I have seen that happen, people have had strong business cases and truly exceptional examples of where they are significantly exceeding the performance of their peers and even the level above. And they had the sponsorship of some pretty senior partners as well. What benefit do you think PwC will get from progressing you early? That is how they will be assessing this.
Yeah that makes sense, I think partner sponsorship is super important, and to a newbie like me, it takes time to establish that. Thanks for your perspective!
