Starting typing their name wrong in your response, they’ll notice real quick.
I would nicely correct her. Your name matters!
Uhh no wtf, they better put some respect on your name!!
Write back to her, and intentionally get her first name wrong by putting a G or K in there somewhere. (It's amazing how people learn that names are important when you get theirs wrong.)
Maybe be a bit more subtle if she is higher up the food chain than you.
It’s weird when they are typing since apparently they can see your name in responses and the address bar. Just say: ‘I think your auto-correct is changing my name: it’s “Marilee” not “Marielle” <smiley face emoticon> ‘ and then continue on with your response. That way the blame is on autocorrect.
I have a german last name that is easy to mispronounce. I don’t correct people cause it doesn’t matter too much to me (and I am shy and introverted). So half the people call me by one name and half another.
I feel this.. I’ve tried correcting my name politely and they still say/type a different name all-together (like John —> Greg wrong). I now feel like they’re just being a jerk but whatever. What can you do
What would happen if you not respond to it. If they follow-up, you can say, sorry, I wasn't sure if I was the intended recipient.
Or everytime they send an email (if they refuse to learn), the reply back if you know it's important. Just want to confirm if that was meant for you as it's address to another name.
Hopefully, they'll get the hang of it.
When I was much younger and practicing law, this numbnut partner insisted on calling me by my full name even though I never introduced myself by that name. Other people would call me that too and I never got full buy in on what I preferred to be called. He was a real donk and I never got comfortable with him or at this firm in general. Correct her.
I’d misspell her name in my response
Get a new name then
