My firm contacted all of my employers directly and if anything even felt slightly off, they would ask for my W2s for proof and signed documents from current employees. It was the most comprehensive process I have ever experienced. Having one odd contract employment job, I went through hell to get it verified.
I’m guessing if they don’t have any of the actual skills that they’ll fail pretty hard in the interviews
Well I’d expect they are exposed in the subsequent rounds.
Recruiters aren’t supposed to be assessing technical depth. It doesn’t surprise me that they could pass this phase.
Important to note that some roles require limited tech know how, even in tech / digital strategy space.
Darn. Well I genuinely hope they get exposed then.
Or maybe just stay in your lane and let them get exposed on their own? It’s not worth focusing on the sad lives of others.

Acting like an expert without any qualification is literally what the job entails so I’d say they are a good fit
Looks like OP is jealous of this so called acquaintance. Honestly, why do you care? Let people do their own thing. If they fail it’s their fault.
