Thoughts on this Town Hall?
Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

Just ignore it. It’s highly likely they are interviewing however.

Memento mori
I told a senior cw recently who’s applying for ACD roles but not getting any calls back to just call yourself ACD. It makes a difference. Also, know a lot of content creators who call themselves a CD and get jobs. I say doesn’t matter, focus on yourself and not others.
Very true. Market yourself for the role you want. If you believe you are at an ACD level that’s who you are. If you can cut it in the new agency, that on them for not rising to the title.
It only matters in that it's likely a sign that they are looking for a new role - or they just have some sorta grudge and feel like they "deserve" the next lvl title. But probably best not to say anything, no one wants to know their manager is lurking on their LI account. (I use lurking loosely - a lot of ppl are dumb and don't release that by inviting their mgr to their LI network they are basically now transmitting every profile change to said mgr. But many ppl don't realize that)

I always wondered if my coworkers check LinkedIn for consistency on things like this. Honestly, they may be looking for a new role (and are targeting this new title).
It’s the only reason I’ve had the desire to do this publicly.

Why don’t you promote that person to the title they’re so passionate about???
Maybe they actually do reach that level in their role and you don’t acknowledge it or fail to see it. As a GCD you’re pretty up there.
A great self-reflection moment here: most senior people just know the broad strokes of their team, they’re often too busy to go much deeper. They perceive their time as too stretched thin and too valuable to take the time.
Lots of self promoters in here. It’s one thing to put “creative direction” under your skills or something but very suspect to give yourself a full title bump officially on LinkedIn, in my opinion
Happens for freelancing more than you know
In the instance that they’re performing at the new title level, I love that people do this.
If they are a decent performer, let them do it.
haha a PM I worked with once told me they ran into another of our coworkers during their interview at another agency
