Spent 5+ yrs for a company, always received top ratings, grew our team 200% at new client (new space). 
Boom, covid happened, ex-mgr asked me to get new clients by working with sales and marketing (I was a Tech mgr leading s/w development projects, LOL). 
Got laid off over a 10 mins zoom call. Got back to work after a yr long break. I am really thankful for this job.
I now see a linkedin req from this same person who took the credit all the time! Get a life, ex-boss.

Currently a paralegal at a small start up financial services company been there for just a little over a year. I wear “multiple hats” but more recently I’ve done a lot of PM work and some BA work. My position title is changing soon but I’m wondering how helpful that would be for wanting to go into PM work at a tech company. Anyone have any career pivot advice? My client’s video was aired on television without a license. The video’s use does not fall within fair use. The production company removed the video from its website once they were informed in order to mitigate economic harm. Can my client bring an action? If so, what can he seek in monetary damages? I have been laid off going on 3 months now and I’ve never felt so discouraged in my life. This job hunt for me has been frustrating and draining. We have an office manager, who is in charge of greeting clients and anybody who walks through the doors, returning of keys, etc., our office manager wants to work a hybrid schedule and we are not opposed to it as long as we can ensure client satisfaction and that the office is orderly. Outside counsel has been prepping company witnesses for a trial in August. It is my subject area so I am supervising outside counsel. I did not, however, choose the counsel. He is doing a really awful job. Co counsel is better, but not great either. Higher ups love the firm… I do not want to micromanage, but I have genuine concerns about outside counsel’s ability to try this case. If an employee mentions something disparaging or accusatory about their manager during an exit interview, how would you handle? What happens if what the employee said is slanderous and a “he said/she said” situation? I.e. employee claimed the manager made a disparaging remark about an item of clothing being worn by someone in accordance with their beliefs. If you opt to share the feedback with the manager, would the manager have a legal case against the company or former employee?
