I am reaching out to you all and am looking forward to break into Investment Banking from Consulting. Applied to Goldman Sachs via a referral but my resume is stuck after HireVue. Talked to the VO who referred me and he said Goldman doesn’t hire in Q4. If that’s true and still need to be in GS, can someone forward my resume directly to the team? Their career portal sucks. TIA Goldman Sachs PS: I promise a dinner in a dance place in NY after I get hired as a sign of my gratitude 🙈

Speak up now before you get totally burned out! Being remote has been a huge struggle for me. Especially as a strategist, we rely so much on personal relationships – with our internal team and with clients. Try to see if you can strike a balance or get help from someone else with the workload so you can be split meetings or
Thank you so much! I just feel like such a failure… your words helped me so much I just had a talk with boss on prioritizing workload… it’s a lot (we are down people on team so workload more than usual)
Sorry to hear and it sounds like where I was most of last year 😞 It’s tough and on top of that, so exhausting and draining to be on zoom all day especially when those meetings are poorly managed most of the time.
With work, have you tried anything to limit zoom meetings or flagging to your manager if it would be ok to limit and push back on those to take more control of your day? I found setting boundaries and making it clear my time is valuable helped me a lot, and made ppl respect my time more. It also helped my managers assign more people to help me on projects or take some off.
And have you tried any methods to be up earlier and focus on you and your hobbies in the morning before work? I’m not a morning person but found that helped me feel more in control, have a clear head and limit what works falls past 5pm.
Being in meetings all day is shockingly exhausting. I feel like I haven’t been productive because I haven’t done any work, but then I’m tired from talking/listening all day. I totally feel you on this. I hope you’re able to find a good solution!
I love that thank you!
This was literally me earlier this year, so I really sympathize with you.
I realized that being remote meant that I needed more like 10 months in my job to feel comfortable rather than the typical 4ish I need in person. So this could be the case for you too.
Oh that’s helpful!!!!!
I’m so sorry you are going through this isolation. Does your team have a group chat or some other stream of constant communication? It may also help to discuss with your boss which meetings you could omit/have coverage for so that you can get actual work done. I’ve been there too, things will get better take care of yourself ♥️
That’s helpful I need to step back I’m literally in mtgs all day
Mural has been a tool that has been a life saver. Nearly every meeting we have now is in mural. It is way more collaborative and a god way to document things. Also, it’s super important to decline meetings, or ask to be rescheduled. And block out time in your calendar when you need to focus. If you don’t set those boundaries you’ll just be running from one fire to the next.

Super helpful thank you everyone!
Meetings all day, virtual or in person, are mentally exhausting, which quickly translates into physical exhaustion, which can lead to depression if left unchecked… at least that’s been my experience.
One thing I did to protect my schedule (and sanity) was to block the first and last hour of every day - as well as at least a half hour for lunch - so I had *some* time to do actual work. I try to get away at lunch. Working from home, I take the dogs for a walk, mow the lawn, or just sit on the deck - anywhere I can’t hear my computer or phone dinging.
I also started requesting any meetings I’m asked to be in have an agenda so I can decide if I *need* to be there or if I can send a proxy, or if I can just get a recap after (sooo many meetings should really just be emails).
I’m sure the company hired you to do something other than sit in meetings, finding that balance can be tricky, but it’s essential.
Best of luck to you.

I’m curious to know if you have the option to go to the office rather than working remotely?
