Started as analyst @ USDC (onshore deliv center). Completely functional resource (Finance backgrnd), but seems like all roles in my practice here are GPS,long term, technical. Advice on moving to core?

Stay for a bit, get experience, then change companies and if you liked Uncle D then boomerang back. It took me 1.5 years to get sponsorship then talent told me I’d have to wait longer because there was a transfer freeze. So I ended up leaving. It’s not worth the hassle and being given the run around imo.

But if you’re adamant about it, then you need to network your way on to core projects in the sector you want to be in. Do good work, build your network in core, then have a candid conversation with a PPMD you like to solicit sponsorship. Then you need to talk to your coach to keep them updated and talk to your TBA to start the process

Leave for another Big 4 then come back. It’s a process and struggle to change. Especially from any onshore Delivery centers. Plus your salary will never catch up

I'm currently a Scrum Master that is looking to make an exit! I have a new profound love for data! However when looking at the salary for data analytics, it appears that I would have to take a pay cut. I currently make 123k in the state of NC...any insight? Should I transition to Data Engineering instead?

Anyone have any friends who successfully pivoted out of advertising? I know a handful of people who are half-trying to, but I can’t think of anyone who has made a clean break, on their own terms, into something that appears to be making them feel more fulfilled than they were in the ad biz. So they continue freelancing in order to make a living, while not gaining much traction elsewhere.

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

Is there such a thing as getting promoted TOO quickly? Just got the bump to AS after 10 months as an AE. Not at all typical at my agency (usually 5 to 8 YOE). I picked up a lot of opportunity after turnover last year. I am, of course, thrilled, but do wonder if it'd put the validity of my agency in question when looking at my resume. Am I crazy? I'm probably crazy.
